It’s a pleasure to be writing this WPSubscribers Review, this WordPress plugin totally rocks!

The plugin is similar to one I used to use called Pop Up Domination. Let’s just say, WPSubscribers is the new plugin that I will be using to take care of opt-ins on Daily Conversions from here out.

The features alone on this plugin are not matched anywhere else right now. This is the most dynamic plugin around that lets you control exactly where you want your opt-ins and exactly when they should show and for WHO they should show. It’s all automatic, you don’t have to copy and paste a code or anything like that.

They use a WYSIWYG editor so that you can automatically make Opt-In Forms look good.

Additionally, and this is a really nice feature, they have a feature to automatically setup your AWeber, iContact or whatever form you use. So you just copy and paste the master code from your provider and it automatically figures it out for you, no manual code editing at all.

Many ways to collect optins

Pop up Opt-in Form

In Post Opt-in Form

On exit Opt-in Form

Facebook Opt-In

Referral Opt-In

Post Comment Opt-In Form

There are many different customization options to make your Opt-In Forms unique to your site. You can select from templates, make something from scratch or modify one of the pre-defined templates.

Frequency to show Opt-in Form

You can set the frequency to show basically however you want, whenever you want. You can base it on many different factors such as Pageviews. Additionally, you can have it display only for X pageviews or after X pageviews. The frequency features are very nice, because you can make it seem basically random rather than consistent and annoying.

Everyone is using it

Ian Fernando.com

MrGreen.am

MarketingOracles.com

DailyConversions.com!

WPSubscribers is the most dynamic, the most powerful, the best WordPress Opt-in manager around. It’s not just a plugin, it’s a complete solution to manage your Opt-ins for your wordpress blog.

Increase your wordpress subscribers now!

There are many things that I am not. I am not the smartest, greatest, or most creative internet marketer in the world and chances are you aren’t either. Unless of course you have an internet marketing ego like mine then I retract my previous statement and would like to say that you must be the smartest, great, and most creative person reading this!

All jokes aside, It’s not really about being the smartest, great or most creative person to get people to open your emails and take action. It’s about being in the moment with your emails.

I have a closely guarded secret that I’m about to reveal. I didn’t really want to reveal it, to be honest, but the market is looking for this kind of thing right now and when there is a call for help, I feel like it’s my job to fill that void.

As the title of this post says, I consistently get 20%+ open rates on my emails. And, I’m not just talking about 1 or 2, I mean, all of my emails get at least 20% open rate, and a high corresponding click through and conversion rate.

How do I get 20%+ open rates?

[High Anticipation Drum roll...] My secret is story telling and being in the moment.

Now, you might be saying “oh brother, where is he going with this one….?” but I assure you that this one secret has made me more money than anything in my entire LIFE and will directly translate to yours in terms of getting more people opening your emails and checking out what you have in them. It also applies to other areas of marketing and is an important concept to grasp.

The formula for 20% open rates on your emails.

1) Getting your attention

The first step is to get attention. If I don’t have your attention, I can’t get what I want from you. No attention is an instant fail, if my email doesn’t get your attention in some way.

2) Peaking your interest

If you want someone to take action, you have to peak their interest first. There’s no 2 ways about it. Goal #2 is to peak their interest. At this point, I have your attention, now I need to do something with your attention, I have to peak your interest to get you to continue on…

3) Get you to take action

Now it’s time to close the deal. I have your attention, you are interested, I’ve managed to give you a little story about this product, service or website, and now I have to get you to take action. There are many different techniques here that can be used to get someone to take action. In all of my experiences the best general technique to get someone to take action, after you have their attention and after they are interested, is to dangle the gold nugget even closer to their face, so to speak. What I mean by this is quite simple and most of the leg work is already done for you in Steps 1 and 2. This is like when you were at a social event and you saw someone you were attracted to, you approach him/her and got their attention which is step 1, then you got him/her interested in you which is step 2, now this is step 3 and you need to get him/her to ask for your phone number (or initiate contact yourself and ask flat out for what you want).

It’s a simple 3 step formula: Attention -> Interest -> Action

Without those 3 things, you will probably not succeed at email marketing. Some people do these automatically and don’t realize they are doing it, those are the lucky ones that just have a natural knack for writing attention getting headlines that peak interest and prompt action. These 3 components, which now probably seem really simple to you have made people myself included tons and tons of money and constantly helped out open rates on our emails, which directly correspond to the bottom line at the end of the day.

In the coming weeks I will be showing you a way that you can learn more about specific headlines and further examples that have helped me make a lot of money getting people to take action via email.

It’s 2011, I’ve been educating people on email marketing for many years now. I’ve given away free content, I’ve sold product, I’ve educated everyone any way I know how. But, there’s still a lot of bad information floating around.

In fact, there is still a great deal of misinformation floating around on email marketing. The main reason for that, is that there are people out there having success with the “old way”. I’m here to explain to you why the old way works for them and the old way will NOT work for you.

The reason why it works for “them” but won’t work for you is trust. If your name is Steve Jobs and you release a new computer product, people are going to trust you and assume it’s good (perceived value.) If your name is John Smith , you are going to have a lot more work to do, negative perceived value because you are an unknown.

How does this relate to email? You can’t copy what the “big names” or “big companies” are doing and expect it to work. I see hundreds of people every day sending out emails that are just not going to be effective for them.

The big misconceptions about email marketing:

Your list is not going to run itself. It’s not a ‘set it and forget it’ kind of thing. It’s a business in and of itself.

You still need to split test.

You can’t ask your subscribers to buy something everyday and expect them to still be your subscribers!

Every subscriber joins on a different day of the year and perceives your email series differently depending on when they join and what’s happening in the world.

How they opt-in is SUPER important and sets their “quality level”.

Many more, but let’s focus on the above.

This leads me to my main point that most people are stuck in the ‘old way’ of doing an “email series”.

The problem with an email series is that it’s generally set, and forgot. It’s rarely tweaked or split tested. It’s not kept fresh, and people are confused if they do take action and they don’t get a new set of emails in regards to that action they took.

Ok, maybe I’m ahead of you… If you are confused, that’s a good thing, read on…

What is an email series?

An email series is a “series” or set of emails sent 1 after another in a pattern. If you join on day 1 , you get a certain email on day 1 and then depending on what the email marketer has setup, you may get another email after 2 days and another one after 2 more days. This can vary greatly, but you probably get the idea that an email series is just one set of emails sent in some kind of pre-arranged pattern.

As I’m sure you can imagine there are several problems with this. What happens if your subscriber buys something? Do you still send them the same emails as everyone else, maybe even about the product that they already bought? A lot of people do. This is just one example that will tick your subscribers off and make them lose trust in you.

What is an email sequence?

An email sequence is a ‘sequence’ or rotating pattern of emails, usually much more elaborate than an email series. An email sequence can consist of several ‘email series’ and the reason for this is that you can have your sequence ‘respond’ to what action your users take. For example, if they buy a product on email marketing, you can have your sequence adjust based on that action that they took and start sending them a set of emails based on email marketing, since they like that. If you didn’t have a sequenced set of reactions to what your customer did you might be talking about blogging when they are interested in email marketing, and they might unsubscribe or ignore/undervalue your emails.

Although Facebook is the new medium, the money is still in the list. Having a big Facebook community is powerful, and in my new Facebook Power training program I teach exactly how to get a huge Facebook community fast, but no matter how big your Facebook page is the fate of it will ultimately lie in Facebook’s hands. If you start to post about things that violate Facebook’s terms of service, or if Facebook thinks your brand is better suited as a community page, they could pull your admin and posting abilities out from under you. This is why I think it is absolutely vital to use Facebook to build your email list. In this post I will share with you five different email list building methods that I have personally used to add well over a thousand new names to my list. Enjoy!

These five tips are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to setting up profitable Facebook strategies.

For more awesome Facebook information check out Garin’s Facebook Tips blog and grab a free copy of his brand new Facebook Power eBook!

1. Install a Facebook “Like” Button into your Opt-in page

This tip seems pretty obvious, but there are many Internet Marketers that neglect to do it! On my opt in page for facebookecourse.com I have had 44 people click the Facebook Like button so far. Granted this opt-in offer is about Facebook so people are probably more inclined to click the like button, but I have non-Facebook money magnets as well and these still manage to get dozens of clicks as well. A twitter share button probably would not hurt, either.

2. Install an opt-in form into a Tab on your Facebook Page

Using the Static FBML app for Facebook you can easily install an opt-in form into a tab. The better your opt-in offer is, the more opt-ins you will get, of course. Keep in mind that you cannot install javascript, you will need to stick with html and fbml. To build the email capture form I use in the FacebookFlow Facebook page I used the form building email marketing service Aweber, and the powerful form building tool that Aweber offers is one of the many reasons that I love their service. After building the form I litereally just copied and pasted the code into the static fbml application I created. Check out this YouTube video I threw together a while back for a more in-depth look at customizing a Facebook tab with Static FBML.

3. Run a Contest for Fans-Only

This method can serve the double purpose of getting people to “Like” your Facebook page, and getting people to join your email list. Using an app like the Sweepstakes app from a company like North Social you can use a reveal tab as “Like bait” to get users to join your page so that they can enter to enter your contest. This is a method that Skittles uses, and it seems to be working pretty well for them, since they are currently have almost fifteen million fans!

4. Post an Update about your Opt-in offer

This one is blatantly straightforward, but still needs to be mentioned. You can post a status update mentioning your opt-in offer, or you can send a message update that will land in the updates section of your fans inbox. For maximum opt-ins you should leverage both options at least once a month.

5. Collaborate with Admins of Large Groups

Although new Facebook Groups do not have the ability to message group members, old groups still do. You can recognize these groups as they still have the “info box” under the profile picture. Old groups allow admins to send updates to up to 5,000 members, and these updates have an open rate of greater than 90%, as they go directly to the main inbox of users, typically triggering an email notification as well. I have been able to negotiate a months worth of posting, once a week, for just $10. If you have a product you are trying to promote you might be able to get admins to message about it for free, if you can become friends with them and convince them to become an affiliate.

These five tips are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to setting up profitable Facebook strategies.

For more awesome Facebook information check out Garin’s Facebook Tips blog and grab a free copy of his brand new Facebook Power eBook!

I’ve put a lot of time this year into keeping track of the Most Influential Email Marketers in the Internet Marketing niche.

Here are some of the stats that I looked at to help determine the top 8 in 2010.

Size of email list (I use various tools and info gathering techniques to help figure out list sizes.)

Response of emails (gauging from people that have promoted my own products or friends products)

Buy rate (rate that people buy products)

Quality of the content (quality breeds influence)

Target audience (you can’t be influential if you have the wrong audience)

I literally have dozens of dummy email accounts that I opt-in to every email list under the sun and keep track of who sticks around. If I get permission from people on this list to post additional specific data about them and their list sizes, sales volume and etc then I will!

With no further adieu and of course not counting the great Brian Evans of the great List Profit Bootcamp, because that would just be unfair

Top 8 Most Influential Email Marketers of 2010

in the Internet Marketing niche

(in no particular order)

Check out the video below, I can’t even do it justice by talking about it. Just watch the vid and spend the $14 bucks on this buck. It’s seriously insanely awesome… best of all, we can all learn a thing or two from Tim Ferriss’s marketing strategies as well.

Today I received one of the coolest automated emails I’ve seen in a long time.

They found a way to use humor and engage their customers by creating a funny name and funny speech pattern for their automated emailing software.

Check out the email I got the other day when ordering business cards from moo.com:

Hello

I’m Little MOO – the bit of software that will be managing your order
with moo.com. It will shortly be sent to Big MOO, our print machine who
will print it for you in the next few days. I’ll let you know when it’s
done and on its way to you.

If you’ve imported your images to MOO from another site, please make
sure you don’t remove or change the photos you’ve chosen from that site
until this order has been printed, or some pictures may come out blank.
(If you’ve uploaded them directly to MOO, then there’s no need to
worry.)

You can track and manage your order from the accounts section at:
https://secure.moo.com/account

Estimated Arrival Date: Wed 22 Dec 2010

Remember, I’m just a bit of software. So, if you have any questions
regarding your order please first read our Frequently Asked Questions
at:

http://www.moo.com/help/faq/

and if you’re still not sure, contact customer services (who are real
people) at:

http://www.moo.com/help/contact-us.html

Thanks,
Little MOO, Print Robot

MOO
“We love to print”

Wow, this is truly one of the most engaging automated emails I’ve read in a while.

In a nutshell:

They are engaging customers by talking about Little MOO and Big MOO and talking in the first person as if it’s the Little MOO software talking to them.

The whole honesty thing telling customers that it is in fact automated while at the same time having a cool name for their robotic cow Little MOO and Big MOO, makes it really fun to read the email.

They’ve gotten us all to read the email and now we are more engaged.

Maybe we are more likely to buy products from them or read more of their automated emails in the future from “Little MOO” or “Big MOO”.

This is so cool and I really wanted to share it with you guys. eCommerce especially should be doing all sorts of stuff like this to engage their lists.
