Another BRIC thrown at the Open Internet

No sooner does word come that Russia had abandoned its push to move the internet under the control of local governments (goo.gl/2jwOL), word out of Dubai is they are back as a part of a BRICr (Bahrian, Russian Federation, Iraq, China, and the rest – Algeria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Sudan) consortium to restrict the open internet.

Our contacts in the session are reporting that the effort to limit internet freedom in these and other partially or fully closed countries will continue far beyond the Dubai ITU session until they achieve success. Daily Conversions continues to encourage you to monitor this situation and communicate the importance of your livelihood (which translates to jobs) to your Congressperson.
