Learn A Bit Of Copywriting, Save Money And Make Even More

copywriting

When you're selling stuff to people, you need to know how to sell. If you sell on a personal basis, or "offline", you need to know how to set up a presentation, you need to read the other person's body language, his/her tone of voice and you need to pay close attention to what they're saying in combination with all this. Now, this is hard to do in an online environment, which is why you have to learn the trick of the trade for that.... Introducing copywriting. A good copywriter is hard to find, … [Read more...]

Split Testing PHP Code

php

Here's a code I use over on ListPlaybook.com to rotate 4 different landing pages. It's much faster than starting and stopping Google's tool every time I want to make a small change or add another page. All you have to do is put this code in your index.php and then all the links in here will rotate randomly and show the visitor those other pages on a random rotation. You can have more or less than 4, just add or remove another as necessary. Here's the code (don't forget to wrap it in PHP … [Read more...]

Building Trust, What Does It Really Mean And How Does It Make You Money?

trust

Everybody is talking about building trust nowadays. You have to build trust with your lists, with your clients, with your blog, your website etc. But what does it really mean, and how does one build trust? We live in a society where we don’t really trust advertising, we have lost confidence in it. Many people, especially of the younger generation, receive advice on where to surf or what to buy from friends, not from ads. Imagine the power of being someone people “trust” and refer to their … [Read more...]

Teach Someone Everything You Know

teacher apple

Just a quick post for today about teaching... I can't tell you how much of better a marketer I've become since I started my consulting business. I was doing really well a few years ago and I mean really well. And, then I started to get involved as a consultant on a few of the big IM training sites (can't name names) and by teaching others it really helped me lay out and follow my own practices even more. After that my earnings totally went through the roof. I started to actually become … [Read more...]

What Is Viral Marketing?

viral

What is viral marketing for real? It's pretty simple but everyone wants to over-complicate it. Here's how I think of viral marketing. I put someone in my mind, the average person that I want to be influenced by this piece of content, product, etc. What I'm really doing is finding someone that fits into the demographic. Once I have the demographic, I can go back to thinking about this particular person who fits into the demographic. The question I ask myself is this. What type of content or … [Read more...]

How New Is That Method Really? Time Tested Techniques Prove To Be Winners…Again.

oldvsnew

When I do seminars, one of the most common questions or requests I get is to tell someone a “new” method I’m using, and how I came up with it. They want to learn how to make the big bucks fast. Every time, I give the same answer: I never use any “new” methods per se, because the time tested ones are making me way more money than any of the hyped crap out there. Think about it. Do you think it’s a “new” thing to be interactive with your customers? To build an email list and send … [Read more...]

Tracking Software vs Cowboy Tracking

cowboy

Today I want to get a discussion going on the difference between the analytical type of marketers that use tracking software and the cowboy types that just focus on ROI with no regard for the details. The type that uses tracking software (such as Tracking202) for everything has several advantages. They get to see exactly what's working, usually in real time. They know what keywords are converting and exactly when and where they are getting results. The cowboy type that just slaps a campaign … [Read more...]

I don’t buy clicks, I buy shirts!!!

listplaybookshoemoney1

Actually, I do buy a lot of clicks. But, I decided that a shirt could also be a decent investment to promote a new email marketing / list building training site of mine List Playbook. Weird huh? Let me tell you what I did. First, I went to zazzle.com and bought a shirt and had the List Playbook logo printed on it. Cost: $45 with rush shipping. Second, I saw that Shoe Money does this promotion where every Friday he will wear a shirt that someone sends to him. So, I sent Shoemoney the shirt. I … [Read more...]

SEO = Competitive Research

spy

What makes up a good SEO campaign? Well, that depends on what your competitors are doing. I can rank first for "random long phrase one two four" in a matter of 5 minutes because there are currently no competitors. Yet, if I want to be competitive with something like "voip los angeles" then I have a lot more work to do. That work starts with looking at what my competitors are doing. On page factors are very important but ultimately at the end of the day those are pretty easy to figure out just … [Read more...]
